Queen Elizabeth’s Court
Sunday, November 16, 2014

We explored the luxurious warmth of the 16th century style known as English Renaissance polyphony through the works of Thomas Tallis, William Byrd and other composers commissioned by Queen Elizabeth.
The viol consort Parthenia recreated the aural environment that would have accompanied the works 500 years ago. David Esbjornson was our consulting director, and acclaimed actors Dana Ivey, Peter Francis James, Kristin Flanders and Natalie Lebert gave readings of the Queen’s own speeches and works of other brilliant writers of the Tudor era to add to the immersive experience.
